Ram 1500

A powerful pickup is a handy tool to have whether you need it for a work truck or you just like embarking on adventures with all the equipment you need for an unforgettable experience. Only a handful of trucks can offer that much, and you deserve a truck that offers even more. That's where the new Ram 1500 comes in. Learn all about the new Ram 1500, and discover whether it's right for you.

Trim Levels (Exterior)

The Ram 1500 has nine trim levels available, so it's easy to customize your model as you see fit. The standard Tradesman trim already comes with a few exciting exterior features including 18-inch steel wheels, a built-in LED hitch lamp, variable wipers, and automatic on/off headlights. The Tradesman HFE, meanwhile, boasts 20-inch chrome wheels. The Big Horn and Lone Star are technically different trims, but they largely offer the same features, such as more chrome and front fog lights. At the Laramie trim level, you get power-folding mirrors with puddle lights, while the Rebel offers off-road excellence with features like a sport-performance hood and all-terrain tires with 33-inch wheels. The Limited Longhorn trim offers mostly interior upgrades, while the Limited includes a multifunction tailgate with a tailgate-ajar warning lamp in addition to adjustable cargo tie-downs. With the TRX trim, you get 18-inch wheels and 35-inch all-terrain tires along with LED headlights and fog lights.

Engine (Power)

There are four engine options for the Ram 1500, and they all offer plenty of power. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 with an astounding 305 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, but that's only the beginning. You may also opt for the 5.7-liter V-8 and its 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. You'll even find a diesel option that's a 3-liter V-6 with 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The most powerful available engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 with 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.

Performance

The key to performance in a pickup truck is capability, and you'll find no shortage of that with the new Ram 1500. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 12,750 pounds, which is one of the highest towing capacities in its class. Even if you opt for the crew cab version of the Ram 1500, which has a lower towing capacity, it can still manage 11,500 pounds. Its payload capacity is impressive too, maxing out at 2,300 pounds.

Interior

Inside the Ram 1500, you'll find room for up to six people if you get a full bench for the first row, while five people is the limit with front-row captain's chairs. A 5-inch touchscreen interface is also standard, but you can upgrade to a 12-inch screen if you like. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also available alongside a 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo system.

Safety Features

Quite a few safety features are available for this pickup. You can opt for blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert along with adaptive cruise control. Automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assist are available as well.
